Align
Align window basics
Vectorian Giotto, with its Align options, gives you broad number of options for customized object distribution on stage. This option can be very helpful during the animation process, especially if you have greater number of objects that you need aligned in some fashion. You can open this window by clicking Window/Align. As you can see you have various options for distributing objects on your stage. You can decide whether to align objects by using stage as your align reference point, or first picked, largest or smallest object on stage.

Align options
Align window has five different groups of parameters: Align, Distribute, Size, Space and Mode. By using the combinations of these options you can produce various effects. For more convenience in demonstrating the use of these options we will use this screenshot.

Mode
Deciding what align mode you want to use should be your first task in using the align objects window. By choosing which mode of alignment you want to use, you designate what will be the reference point for further aligning.
STAGE : You can align objects by using your stage as a reference.
FIRST : You can align objects by using the first selected object as a reference.
LARGEST : You can align objects by using the largest of selected objects as a reference.
SMALLEST : You can align objects by using the smallest of selected objects as a reference.

Align
There are six options for aligning selected objects.
1) Align left sides
2) Align right sides
3) Align horizontal centers
4) Align top sides
5) Align bottom sides
6) Align vertical centers
For example : if want to align all selected objects to the top border of your stage you first select wanted objects, then click STAGE mode and then click Align top sides icon. You should get result similar to this in a screenshot above.
Distribute

Use these options to make the selected objects equally spread from their centers/sides in accordance to your preference. The selected objects will be equally distributed from the reference point. You have six options for distributing objects at your disposal.
1) Distribute left side
2) Distribute right side
3) Distribute horizontal center
4) Align top side
5) Distribute bottom side
6) Distribute vertical center
For example : if you want all selected objects to be equally distributed on the stage, then click STAGE mode and then click Distribute horizontal center. The selected objects centers will be horizontally equally spread from one another on the stage. Results should be as on the picture above.
Size

These are the options for matching height and width of the selected objects in the appropriate mode. You should use this option if you want to have multiple objects with same width, height or both. There are three options for size alig:
1) Match width
2) Match height
3) Match width and height
For example : if you want all your selected objects to match with the width and height of the smallest object selected, then click SMALLEST mode and then click Match width and height. Results should be as on the picture beside.
Space

With Space options you can equalize the space between the selected objects as per referent mode. There are two options for space control:
1) Space horizontally
2) Space vertically

For example : if you want all your selected objects to be equally horizontally distanced from one another without moving the first object, then click FIRST mode and then click Space Horizontally. The space between the selected objects will change as in these pictures.
